Storm & Hail Damage / Insurance Claims

Hail, straight-line wind, and heavy rain move through Central Texas fast, and most of what they do to a roof isn’t visible from the driveway. We inspect for free and handle the insurance side with you.

What is Storm & Hail Damage / Insurance Claims?

Hail and wind damage often isn’t visible from the ground. We provide a free on-roof inspection, document any damage with photos, and coordinate directly with your insurance company from the first adjuster meeting through the final scope.

Overview

Hail damage is often not visible from the ground. Granule loss, soft spots, and cracked seals show up on close inspection, not from the street, and a roof that looks fine after a storm can be quietly leaking within a season. That gap between what a homeowner can see and what’s happened to the roof is where small issues turn into major interior damage, and it’s the reason we lead with a free, close-up inspection rather than a guess from the curb.

We check the field of the roof, the flashing, the vents, and the other soft metal on the property, including vents, gutters, and AC housing, because those often show hail hits more clearly than shingles do and help confirm a storm event happened at your address on a specific date.

HOW WE HANDLE THE INSURANCE SIDE

If the inspection turns up storm damage, we document it with photos and a written report, and we can meet your insurance adjuster on-site to walk the roof together. Adjusters see a lot of roofs in a short window after a regional storm, and a second set of eyes from someone who does this daily helps make sure nothing gets missed in the scope. If a claim comes back underpaid or with damage left out, we can help put together a supplement request with the additional documentation.

Insurance claims are time-sensitive. Most policies set a specific filing window from the date of loss, and that window varies by carrier and policy, so it's worth checking your declarations page, asking us to help you find it, or reviewing rather than assuming you have longer than you do.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Frequently Asked Questions

Often you can’t tell from the ground. Bruising on shingles, granule loss, and cracked or dented soft metal (vents, gutters, AC housing) are the clearest signs, and they need a close-up inspection to spot. That’s exactly what our free inspection covers.

Yes. We inspect, document what we find, and give you a straight answer, including telling you if there’s nothing to file a claim over. You decide what to do with the report.

It helps, but it’s not strictly required if you’d rather we handle the walkthrough and report back. Most homeowners choose to be there the first time.

We can help you request a supplement with additional photo documentation if we believe the scope missed damage. We’re not a public adjuster and can’t guarantee an outcome, but we can make sure your insurer is working from a complete picture.

It depends on your specific policy. Most set a window measured from the date of loss, commonly around one year, but carriers and policies vary. Check your declarations page, or ask us and we’ll help you find the number that applies to your policy.
