Lake Travis
John Elliott Roofing & Construction provides free roof inspections and storm damage documentation across the Lake Travis area, including Lakeway and nearby Hill Country communities, covering both full-time residences and second homes along the lake.
Overview
The Lake Travis area covers Lakeway and the string of Hill Country communities along a 19,000-acre lake formed by the Mansfield Dam in 1941, roughly 25 miles west of downtown Austin.
Lake Travis was created in 1941 with the construction of the Mansfield Dam on the Colorado River, and today the lake stretches across roughly 270 miles of shoreline. Lakeway, the area’s main resort community, got its start as a second-home development in 1963 and has grown into a full-service community with golf courses, marinas, and its own school district, Lake Travis ISD, alongside nearby communities like Bee Cave, Spicewood, Briarcliff, and Hudson Bend.
Housing stock here ranges from older second-home cabins from the lake’s early development to large custom estates built more recently for full-time residents, and roofing considerations track the terrain as much as the building’s age, Hill Country wind exposure, hillside drainage, and tree cover all factor into how a roof ages here, on top of whatever the last hailstorm did.
We inspect the same way across every community in the area, checking for storm damage and general wear, and handle the insurance side directly when a storm is the reason for the call.
